Forget the standard breakfast in bed and take your traditional Sunday drive to the next level this Mother’s Day, 10th May, with a trip to Kangaroo Valley for Street Beats & Eats. From 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, the village is ditching the formal white tablecloths for a valley style open-air celebration with the village alive with local flavours, easy-going tunes, and plenty of opportunities to spoil Mum with a bit of boutique retail therapy.
The day is a showcase of the Valley’s best local haunts, serving up their very best making the drive well worth the effort. ,You can grab handmade Nepalese Momos from Valley Bliss, enjoy a Mexican brunch menu at The Valley Table, spoil mum at Caterina’s with bubbles and canapes or then settle in for a long, lazy Italian lunch at Wildes Dining. The Friendly Inn will be the heart of the action, with the Kangaroo Valley Farmer’s Market and satay street food and their full bistro menu,
The village will be humming with local beats, from Ben Woods, Truck Stop Sushi, Luke Ebbs, Alistair, Ian Chamber, Edmund St Clair, Faraway Day, Cantalena, Banjo, Didge & Drum Circle Jams, Kangaroo Valley Community Choir and DJ Tino. The village will also welcome buskers to compete for a $300 cash prize for the day’s best performance. Anyone keen to play can pre-register online or just swing by The KV Hub on Sunday morning by 10am to get their name on the list and join the competition. The winner will be announced at 1pm at Hampden Deli along with the winner of the Mother’s Day Hamper raffle worth over $500 with tickets on sale from 9am in the village.
Between beats and eats, Mum can wander through Kangaroo Valley’s curated boutique shops, which offer everything from local crafts to Australian designer gems you won’t find in the city.
“This event is the perfect opportunity to come together to celebrate all the wonderful things about Kangaroo Valley and what’s on offer. The Shoalhaven Food Network Autumn Celebration of Food gives us a perfect platform to collaborate with other local food businesses. “
The rest of the village is getting in on the act too, with the Kangaroo Valley General Store serving Middle Eastern street food, Hampden Deli slinging pizza by the slice, and the Kangaroo Valley Preschool flower and bake sale offering the perfect last-minute gift for Mum.
