Visual Arts in the Valley

Visual Arts in the Valley 2024 will showcase a feast of the arts across numerous
venues throughout Kangaroo Valley over the October Long Weekend (Friday 4 to
Monday 7 October).

These events include:
Salon of Local Artists in the Kangaroo Valley Hall
Opening: Friday 5 October 6.30pm
Curated by Boe-Lin Bastian, this exhibition will feature selected works by local KV
artists – all eligible for the prestigious Salon Prize, Packing Room Prize and People’s
Choice Prize. $2550 in prizes on offer. All works will be on exhibition through to
Monday 7 and available for sale.

Invited Gallery of Australian Artists Kangaroo Valley Hall
Opening: Friday 4 October 6.30pm
This year we are proud to welcome Australian Galleries who will exhibit a range of
works by significant contemporary Australian artists. This is a unique opportunity to
view and experience the vast range of artists represented by Australian Galleries
without having to travel to their Sydney or Melbourne galleries. All works on display
will be available for sale.

Kangaroo Valley Art Trail
A great opportunity to visit the working studios of 9 Local Kangaroo Valley Artists;
Karen Barker, Daisy Farnham , Anne France Fulgence, Carla Jackett, Kerrie
Leishman, Mayriel Luke, Sue & David Prescott, Robyn Rumpf and Megan Waud plus
Artlab artists.

3 Arts of a Kind at The Hive
A unique project involving 3 local artists responding to “a provocation”. Come and
see how these artists have each interpreted this theme.

Art Film Night (Sat 5 Oct 5pm in the Upper River Hall)
Featuring “The King Sun: John Olsen a Portrait at 85” by local filmmaker Tony
Williams.
In Discussion with the Film Maker after the film.

There will be an exhibition of signed John Olsen Prints on the night – all available for

Workshop by Kerrie Leishman at her studio.
Participants will create 2 artworks in 2 hours! Reduction charcoal drawing inspired from the bush, plus abstract mixed media
artwork, using oil pastels to make rubbings with natural materials and then
watercolours applied etc. over the top.
