DESCRIPTION:Wildwood Kangaroo Valley invites you to a special hands-on workshop with Gadhungal Marring. \n\n\nThis workshop is perfect for anyone interested in growing edible native plants — whether you’re looking to create a thriving native garden\, add to your homegrown produce\, or simply deepen your connection to the land. \n\n\nTogether\, we’ll be planting out Wildwood’s Creek Walk — with a collection of edible native trees and plants selected for their suitability to our sandy soils and their potential to be used in creative food and drink for our weddings and events. Our vision is our guests will be able to forage this walk in the future – like guests at your house could forage in the future too 🙂 \n\n\n\nLearn about and plant a diverse range of native edibles\, including: \n\n\n\n\n\nNative Thyme (Prostanthera) \n\n\nWarrigal Greens (Tetragonia tetragonioides) \n\n\nNative Basil (Ocimum tenuiflorum) \n\n\nMidyim Berry (Austromyrtus dulcis) \n\n\nLemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) \n\n\nCinnamon Myrtle (Backhousia myrtifolia) \n\n\nFinger Limes (Citrus australasica) \n\n\nRiver Mint (Mentha australis) \n\n\nOld Man Saltbush (Atriplex nummularia) \n\n\nNative Pepperberry (Tasmannia lanceolata) \n\n\nNative Violet (Viola hederacea) \n\n\nIllawarra Plum (Podocarpus elatus) \n\n\nDavidson’s Plum (Davidsonia pruriens) \n\n\n\n\n\nThis workshop will cover: \n\n\n\n\n\nChoosing the right native plants for your garden \n\n\nHow to care for and harvest from edible natives \n\n\nTraditional uses and cultural significance of the plants\nAfter the demonstration\, participants will join in planting out the garden. DESCRIPTION:There are some places in the wilderness where nature over delivers and gliding downstream on the Kangaroo River from Beehive Point to the mouth of Yarrunga Creek with the backdrop of the Morton National Park in Kangaroo Valley\, is one such place. It’s the MUST DO wildlife experience in NSW with its eerily beautiful backdrop of a convict-built sandstone road\, winding uphill and linking the rainforest with our colonial past. Home to the majestic azure kingfisher\, wedge-tail eagle\, diamond python\, rock wallaby\, white-breasted sea eagle\, water dragon and more\, this is nature at its best\, untouched and wild. On the drive down through the rainforest it is usual to see kangaroos\, wombats and echidnas.\n\n\n\nSo\, take a seat in one of our custom-built double-canoe rigs and immerse your senses in the sheer beauty of this stunning waterway.  Indulge your taste buds with fresh canapés and a local award-winning cool climate wine and discover what is unapologetically heaven. \nNew Summer 2024 dates coming soon. We run two sessions per day – 11.30am arrival for briefing with noon departure and 2.30pm arrival with briefing for a 3pm departure. You are on the water for about 2 hours.  Cost is $225 Per Person. \nPrivate bookings on other dates available on request and are very popular either in Kangaroo Valley or Berrima. \nMaps are provided via email one week before your experience where we check in on dietary requirements and beverage choices. Its best to allow 20 mins from Kangaroo Valley village to drive through Morton National Park to where we enter the water.
