DESCRIPTION:Join Valley Outdoors and Gadhungal Marring for a deeply immersive cultural canoe tour on the calm waters of the Kangaroo River at Bendeela Recreation Area\, in the heart of Kangaroo Valley. \nThis intimate experience invites guests to slow down\, paddle together in unique BIG canoes\, and connect with Country through guided cultural sharing. Moving at the gentle pace of the river\, participants are welcomed into a shared journey that honours place\, story\, and connection. \nLed collaboratively by experienced Valley Outdoors guides and Gadhungal Marring\, the tour weaves together flatwater paddling\, cultural knowledge\, and time on Country. The use of BIG canoes creates a collective experience\, making the tour accessible\, inclusive\, and suitable for beginners\, families\, and those new to paddling. \nThroughout the experience\, guests are invited to listen\, learn\, and reflect. Cultural storytelling and interpretation provide insight into the significance of the land and waterways\, while moments quiet reflection encourage a deeper relationship with place. \nWhat to Expect\n\nWelcome to Country and cultural introduction\nGuided canoe paddle on calm flatwater in shared BIG canoes\nCultural storytelling and interpretation on Country\nCultural elements including a Welcome to Country Ceremony and Yidaki (didgeeridoo)\nLight refreshments including indigenous herbal tea\, and local hand made morning tea catered by Caterina_KV\nTime for reflection\, connection\, and respectful conversation\n\nThis experience has been thoughtfully designed to be welcoming\, respectful\, and culturally meaningful. Learn how we milk our Jersey cows and about calf-at-foot dairying. \nMeet our turkeys and see how we use our chickens to fertilise the orchard and garden. Explore\, wander and taste your way through the garden and meet with our team of growers. Enjoy some of our home made refreshing soda and a taste of our seasonal produce. \nThis is a great tour for families and animal lovers. \nFeel free to stay after the tour to explore and enjoy the farm – even have a swim in the creek or bring a picnic to enjoy. \n\nWhen: Wednesday 15th April – 9:00 -11:00\nLocation: Winderong Farm\, Upper Kangaroo River\nCost: $20 per person – or a Family ticket for $50. Tickets include a taste of our homemade soda and some farm-grown goodies.\nTickets are limited. A minimum number of participants will be required to go ahead.Winderong is a working farm with uneven ground and various hazards. Please wear appropriate footwear. All children MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.About Us:\n\nWinderong Farm is an experimental project encompassing permaculture\, regenerative agriculture\, bush regeneration\, sustainability and communal living. Our farm is set on 810 acres of stunning wilderness and farmland in beautiful Dharawal country\, Kangaroo Valley. Our growing community consists of around 12-15 full-time residents\, as well as local employees and a host of beautiful and much-loved farm animals and wildlife. We aim to embody the permaculture principle of “we are nature working” and develop a deep understanding and respect for the land we steward\, all the while aiming to regenerate the earth and learn from her and each other.
