SUMMARY:Canoes Cool Climate Wines and Canapés
DESCRIPTION:There are some places in the wilderness where nature over delivers and gliding downstream on the Kangaroo River from Beehive Point to the mouth of Yarrunga Creek with the backdrop of the Morton National Park in Kangaroo Valley\, is one such place. It’s the MUST DO wildlife experience in NSW with its eerily beautiful backdrop of a convict-built sandstone road\, winding uphill and linking the rainforest with our colonial past. Home to the majestic azure kingfisher\, wedge-tail eagle\, diamond python\, rock wallaby\, white-breasted sea eagle\, water dragon and more\, this is nature at its best\, untouched and wild. On the drive down through the rainforest it is usual to see kangaroos\, wombats and echidnas.\n\n\n\nSo\, take a seat in one of our custom-built double-canoe rigs and immerse your senses in the sheer beauty of this stunning waterway.  Indulge your taste buds with fresh canapés and a local award-winning cool climate wine and discover what is unapologetically heaven. \nNew Summer 2024 dates coming soon. We run two sessions per day – 11.30am arrival for briefing with noon departure and 2.30pm arrival with briefing for a 3pm departure. You are on the water for about 2 hours.  Cost is $225 Per Person. \nPrivate bookings on other dates available on request and are very popular either in Kangaroo Valley or Berrima. \nMaps are provided via email one week before your experience where we check in on dietary requirements and beverage choices. Its best to allow 20 mins from Kangaroo Valley village to drive through Morton National Park to where we enter the water.

SUMMARY:Gadhungal Marring - Native Bush Foods Planting Day
DESCRIPTION:Wildwood Kangaroo Valley invites you to a special hands-on workshop with Gadhungal Marring. \n\n\nThis workshop is perfect for anyone interested in growing edible native plants — whether you’re looking to create a thriving native garden\, add to your homegrown produce\, or simply deepen your connection to the land. \n\n\nTogether\, we’ll be planting out Wildwood’s Creek Walk — with a collection of edible native trees and plants selected for their suitability to our sandy soils and their potential to be used in creative food and drink for our weddings and events. Our vision is our guests will be able to forage this walk in the future – like guests at your house could forage in the future too 🙂 \n\n\n\nLearn about and plant a diverse range of native edibles\, including: \n\n\n\n\n\nNative Thyme (Prostanthera) \n\n\nWarrigal Greens (Tetragonia tetragonioides) \n\n\nNative Basil (Ocimum tenuiflorum) \n\n\nMidyim Berry (Austromyrtus dulcis) \n\n\nLemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) \n\n\nCinnamon Myrtle (Backhousia myrtifolia) \n\n\nFinger Limes (Citrus australasica) \n\n\nRiver Mint (Mentha australis) \n\n\nOld Man Saltbush (Atriplex nummularia) \n\n\nNative Pepperberry (Tasmannia lanceolata) \n\n\nNative Violet (Viola hederacea) \n\n\nIllawarra Plum (Podocarpus elatus) \n\n\nDavidson’s Plum (Davidsonia pruriens) \n\n\n\n\n\nThis workshop will cover: \n\n\n\n\n\nChoosing the right native plants for your garden \n\n\nHow to care for and harvest from edible natives \n\n\nTraditional uses and cultural significance of the plants\nAfter the demonstration\, participants will join in planting out the garden. The day will finish with a delicious picnic lunch made with local bush foods. \nYour ticket includes:\n\nGuided workshop and demonstration with Gadhungal Marring \n\n\n\n\n\n\nHands-on planting experience \n\n\nPicnic lunch in a stunning natural setting \nWhether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out\, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn from experts and take home the knowledge you need to start growing native foods in your own backyard. Gadhungal Marring is 100% Aboriginal-owned social enterprise dedicated to sharing knowledge of native plants\, bush foods\, and cultural connection to Country. We have a really wonderful relationship with them and know that this workshop is going to be delivered with a lot of care and planning given the amount of visits and meetings we have all had to get it right.\n\n\n\n\nThe video below was from another one of our workshop series – the content of the classes was different to that planned for this workshop \n\n\nFAQ \n\n\nWHEN?  \n\n\nThis is a workshop run Sunday 14th Sept 10:30am – 2:30pm \n\n\nDIETARYS \n\n\nWe can accomodate vegetarians and gluten free options. Please just let us know on check out. \n\n\nBAD WEATHER \n\n\nIf the event needs to be postponed – rest assured this will not be at your expense \n\n\nWHERE TO STAY: \n\n\nFor campers there is Bendeela recreation area at the bottom of our road. Otherwise we suggest Supercalla Private Properties (use code WILD11 on checkout)\, Kangaroo Valley Escapes and Kangaroo Valley Getaways or looking on our website for accomodation options or staying in Berry.
