We share stories through dance and song\, celebrating the creation of our native animals and paying our respects to the lessons they hold. \nOur old people have been sharing story since the beginning of time. We are proud to continue this practice and share it with future generations and the wider community. In doing so\, we honour our history and our ancestors\, making sure they live on in everything we do. \nFollowing the corroboree and smoking ceremony\, we’ll share a delicious meal featuring native and ancient ingredients with a modern twist\, crafted by our friend Angie from The Valley Table. The meal will include a kangaroo stew\, a summer veggie stew\, myrtle damper\, herbal teas and cake. There will be gluten free\, vegan and kids options available. \n  \nAbout Gadhungal Marring  \nWe’re a local Indigenous owned business. We specialise in delivering cultural services\, with the goal to revitalise and strengthen traditional culture through practice\, experience and knowledge sharing. \nAbout Winderong Farm   \nWe’re grateful to Winderong Farm for working with us and giving us a place to hold this corroboree. Winderong Farm is an experiment in regenerative agriculture\, permaculture\, bush regeneration\, and sustainable living. \nTicket details\nChild tickets are for children 5-18 years old. The event is free for children under 5. \nNadtha Yindi (see you soon\, see you later\, see you for who you are and the story you hold with love respect and appreciation) \nThe Gadhungal Marring Team

SUMMARY:The 137th Annual Kangaroo Valley Show
DESCRIPTION:Kangaroo Valley Agricultural & Horticultural Association\nThe Kangaroo Valley Show is held annually in February. The Show is run and managed by the Kangaroo Valley Agricultural and Horticultural Association – a group of local volunteers dedicated to preserve the heritage and annual occurrence of the show. \nThe Association has a long history in Kangaroo Valley. It was created in 1881 and the first annual show of the Association took place in 1886 on a vacant piece of land on the bank of the river at the rear of what is now the Friendly Inn Hotel. In 1888 the Association sought to secure a permanent Showground and accepted the offer of ten acres of land opposite the General Cemetery by Alick Osborne (son of Henry Osborne). This area\, now known as Osborne Park\, with its picturesque Showground and facilities has hosted the Kangaroo Valley Show ever since. \n\nAcross the park throughout the two days\, there will be a myriad attractions for young and old. Some of the special features include the opening night of the Show that will feature a ticketed Cheese and Wine Tasting by the Valley Cheesemakers\, a Canoe Drumming performance with audience participation\, a Silent Disco for local youth and live music in the bar. \nOn Saturday\, five stages will be set-up around the Showground for the Busking competition with all ages and all talent welcome to perform\, all vying for a $1000 prize pool. Saturday night after the Rodeo\, will see more live music in the bar to help everyone relax and stay in the groove.

SUMMARY:Wildwood Forage Feast
DESCRIPTION:Diego Bonneto Bush Walk/Forage Degustation w/ paired wines by wine maker Chris Loth\nWe are lucky to host\, Diego Bonetto\, author of  EAT WEEDS\, A field guide to foraging – pairing some delicious foraged canapés with a selection of drinks chosen by Chris Loth\, founder and head viticulturist as Clo Wines as well as owner of Annandale Cellars Bottle shop. \nJoin us on an edible wild food adventure that sees a collaboration between renowned forager and environmental educator Diego Bonetto and food designer\, stylist and weed convert Marnee Fox and Wine Make Chris Loth.  \nBuilding on Diego’s much-loved weed foraging walks\, we will be taking the wild plants found on the foraging tour across Wildwood’s 100 acres of pristine subtropical rainforest\, set against a sweeping sandstone escarpment\, surrounded by national parks and serving up a mini mobile degustation that will have you wanting more weeds in your diet and dinner parties. \nWhat to expect: \n– A 2.5 hr walk around Wildwood w/ a maximum of 20 guests – foraging and identifying many edible foods along the way. We will be running sessions in early and mid afternoob \n– 5 x canapé stations in the bush. Set up especially for you by celebrated chef\, Marnee Fox to taste different things you find in Kangaroo Valley \n– Matched beverages from Chris Loth of Clo Wines and Annandale Cellars (cocktails\, vermouths\, beers and wines) \n– Full-colour booklet detailing the most common edible wild plants found on the walk \nAbout our teachers: \nDiego Bonetto grew up on a dairy farm in northern Italy when it was still common practice to collect the wild produce of the land. Springtime was all about dandelions\, nettle and lovertin (hop bush young shoots)\, summer was about mulberries and blackberries\, autumn was the time of chestnuts\, hazelnuts and a host of edible mushrooms. He learned this ancient craft of gathering from the fields and woods while caring for resources in Piedmontese\, his mother tongue. \nWhen he moved to Australia he spent many years working in orchards and garden centres. He soon learned that his knowledge was a rare practice in modern societies and he sensed in the people around him a longing to rekindle their untapped connection to nature. Indigenous knowledge loss and a disproportionate mistrust for wild produce\, gave way for a country of disconnected living. We no longer know the names of the plants living on our doorsteps; we distrust and dismiss some of the most important food and medicine plants that have always walked with us as our co-evolutionary species. \nChris Loth is the owner of Annandale Cellars. A qualified winemaker with over a decade of vintages under his belt and his own wine label – CLO. Chris has a vineyard of his own in Tumbarumba\, and also sources grapes from Orange in NSW. He has a love of wines produced naturally that reflect the place they are from and the biology that helps create them. The wines are unique expressions that are uncompromising on quality\, and absolutely delicious. \n  \n  \n\n\n\n\nAre we going to be harvesting plants?\nNo\, we will learn about plants. We will only collect a few leaves and flowers here and there and with those\, we will discuss ID features. The main aim of the workshop is to empower you with identification skills so that when you go back home you can recognise with confidence some useful plants in your own garden/surroundings. \nAre we going to scramble in the wilderness?\nEnough bush bashing to wear enclosed shoes. We will walk on even ground and sometimes might walk on a rock platform on bush paths. It won’t be a scramble. \nIs this suitable for elderly people or less mobile people?\nUnfortunately\, this particular workshop is not suitable for less mobile people. Please check the other workshops as they are better suited. \nCan we try the plants?\nYes\, we will offer a mini mobile degustation as well as samples of the plants we talk about for you to try. This will be a well thought out mini degustation at 5 stations along our walk \nWhat will we drink?\nChris Loth is bringing top quality pairings with our 5 canapés. You can buy tickets without alcohol included. \nCan I come with my dog?\nYes\, as long as is well behaved with the other guests and does not try and gobble anyones food. \nWhat if it looks like it’s going to rain on the day?\nPlants love the rain and natures salad bar will be yummier for it. If there is a chance of rain we will let you know and we will go ahead\, just bring an umbrella or your rain gear. If it is scheduled to rain hard or strong wind we will cancel the workshop and either refund your ticket or move your booking to another date. \nWhat if I change my mind or can no longer attend?\nWe accept full refunds 2 weeks out. After that we will have locked in and bought everything so suggest you onsell or give to a friend. \nCan I ask specific questions on the workshop?\nAbsolutely. We love questions and if you have any burning one just let me know in advance or on the day and we will endeavour to provide you with answers or follow up with links that would help in your quest

SUMMARY:The Wildwood Wallaby and Wombat Wine Mixer
DESCRIPTION:Wanting to do our bit to keep our wonderful native animals safe & raise some bush fire preparedness tips – we invite you to Wildwood’s first Wombat and Wallaby Wine Mixer. \nIt will be fun day in the bush – with all our lawn games out and and bbq on\, cooking delicious local sausage sizzles. We will have the tunes going and the bar open to purchase a tipple including some of of our newest cocktail creations. \nWe welcome you to wear your best cowboy boots to the day. As what better shoe to kick off the summer parties in?! \n$20 donations for Adults\, $10 for children and $50 for families of 4 include a sausage sizzle and an ice cream + a chance to explore the grounds and maybe spot a wombat or wallaby yourself! All proceeds raised will go directly to Friends of the Brush Trail Rock Wallaby and The Wisdom Wombat Refuge. \nNOTE: If you can organise pack your cars tight with passengers we would be grateful as we want to see as many of you as our carpark will allow. \nWHY ARE WE RAISING MONEY? \nEarlier this year\, when we realised that one of our favourite Wildwood wombats had mange both Lyn and Kate sprang into action like a hospital ER team – and spent the week coming down to tend and care in a way that really touched us. We are proud to have neighbours who take it on themselves to look after and protect these valley locals. \nEven though these volunteers donate their time and the petrol to get to us – the medicines are not free and helping fund these\, straw\, food are just some of the things your ticket price will go to. \nSimilarly\, the friends of the brush tail rock wallaby spend their time creating safe environments for all native animals that are hunted by foxes and feral cats. We love going on walks around Wildwood and spotting echidnas\, wallabies\, lyre birds\, goannas and other uniquely Australian animals and want that to be the case for many generations to come. The rock wallaby’s environment is already severely diminished and we hope by supporting this group we see more of them in the valley over time. \nBoth these groups\, as well as some of our local Fire Fighters will be at the event to learn more about way to keep animals and places in and around the valley safe. \nOur Partners \n!! We can’t put on a day like this without the help of wonderful local neighbours – if you have something to contribute please reach out to bookings@kangaroovalleycountrywedding.com.au – whether you are an amateur face painter or a professional tug of war judge we would love you involved! \nBendeela Local Community and Bush Fire Preparedness Group and the RFS – this day wouldn’t have happened without some prodding from Tigga Jessop and Rosie Johnson. This team and the RFS will be on hand on the day manning the bbq and answering questions about bush fire preparedness as we enter the summer months. \nTerra e Mare – Brad and the team have put together the local ingredients for the sausage sizzle – these include buns\, relishes and sauces made by him and the team in town. \nSoftpower Studio – Screen printing us tshirts on their using local eco friendly dyes and Australian made tshirts and bags up \nWisdom Wombat Refuge and Friends of The Brush tailed Rock Wallaby – both will be there to help answer questions about what they do and how you can help
