03/09/2024

Good morning All,

TONIGHT IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO BE PROACTIVE WHEN IT COMES TO KANGAROO VALLEY AND ISSUES WHICH AFFECT US.

With SCC Elections on Saturday 14th September 2024, all THREE Mayoral Candidates and all FOUR Ward 1 Lead Councillors Candidates will be speaking at the

Kangaroo Valley Community Forum

Kangaroo Valley Hall
Tuesday 3rd September 2024 at 7pm
Mayoral Candidates – Kaye Gartner (Greens), Jemma Tribe (Team Tribe), Patricia White (Shoalhaven Independents)
Lead Councillor Candidates – Selena Clancy (Team Tribe), Tonia Gray (Greens), Matthew Norris (Labor), Peter Wilkins (Shoalhaven Independents)

We are hoping for a large turnout from the KV Community – all seven Speakers are coming in from outside the valley. Good attendance numbers will show we care about the future of our Kangaroo Valley and the issues which affect it, and wish to engage and work collaboratively so that SCC’s decisions have a positive affect on our community.
This is a two way street – if we want our next term Mayor and Ward 1 Councillors to listen to us and work towards a positive impact on our community, we need to show we are interested in the whole of future direction of KV.

Understandably, sometimes there will be a particular issue that rallies the community for a “time”, but we need to show that it is ALL of Kangaroo Valley which we care about, and to do that, coming along to YOUR Kangaroo Valley Community Consultative Body (KVCCB) meetings goes a long way. (Ward 1 Councillors attend our KVCCB meetings, and indeed all Councillors and the Mayor are entitled to attend any CCB meeting if they wish.)

Each Mayoral Candidate will introduce themselves and answer four specific questions derived from community input.
Following this, the Lead Councillor Candidates for Ward 1 will introduce themselves and answer three specific questions derived from community input.

The KVCCB has tried to incorporate as many of the questions received from the Community as physically possible, given time constraints.

In our view, this is a good start, and if you have further questions or suggestions after the conclusion of the forum, you are able to contact any one of the Candidates directly.

Regards,
Brenda
