Here is some information from WaterNSW on work being conducted on Tallowa Dam Road…

WaterNSW is advising that we are carrying out essential work on Tallowa Dam Road on Monday 11 November 2024 for two weeks, weather permitting.

The essential work is required following recent rain events. Work will include installing drainage along 80 metres of the upgraded section of Tallowa Dam Road, to divert water and prevent damage to the road surface from future rain events. The new drainage will further improve the safety and resilience of the road.

Tallowa Dam Road will remain open to traffic while work is carried out. Traffic control will be in place for the duration of the works, including single lane access at times. Please allow for short delays. 

The work is located at the upgraded section of the road, about two kilometres east of Tallowa Dam.

WaterNSW apologises for the inconvenience caused by these essential drainage installation works, and thanks the community for their patience.

Tallowa Dam fish lift upgrade

Work to upgrade the Tallowa Dam fish lift will start this month.  Repairing the fish lift will enable fish migration between the lower and upper Shoalhaven River.  

The work will take approximately 18 months (weather permitting) to complete and will include mechanical and electrical upgrades to continue operating the fish lift.

Access to public recreation areas including car parks, BBQs and viewing platforms will remain open to the public during our works.  Access to public canoe launching located upstream and downstream of the dam will also remain open to the public during this work.

There will be extra cars, trucks and equipment travelling along Tallowa Dam Road to the construction site. Please be mindful of the extra traffic and follow all site signage.
