KVCCB – Moss Vale Road Barrengarry Update
Hi KV Community,
Here is an update from Transport for NSW on work on Moss Vale Road Barrengarry…
Repairs will start this month at two natural disaster damaged sites on Moss Vale Road at Barrengarry Mountain. The work involves installing soil nails with a heavy-duty mesh surfacing or shotcrete to add strength to road embankment. Concrete kerb will also be installed above the sites to control runoff and prevent further damage to the slope below. This work begins on Monday 19 August 2024 at the first site near the hairpin at the top of Barrengarry Mountain and then at the site 150m below the “Barrengarry Eastbound Rest Area” on Monday 16 September 2024, weather permitting. Work times at each site will be Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm. Transport for NSW (Transport) expects the work to take four weeks to complete at each site, weather permitting. Transport will minimise the impact of this work on motorists and the community as much as possible. Portable traffic signals will manage traffic through the work site and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will also be in place. Motorists should allow an extra five minutes for travel time.
