Transport for NSW provides an update on the repairs to Moss Vale Road at Cambewarra Mountain, with visible progress being made on all six landslip sites. The contractor has completed work to secure one site and is expected to finish work on the remaining two by early August. After completion at Cambewarra Mountain, work will begin on two landslip sites at Barrengarry Mountain in mid-August. The Rix Group is using a different approach for the three downslope sites, with slower progress on installation of soil nails but work on concrete capping beams. Plans for the final major component of the repairs, resurfacing a 1.5km section of Moss Vale Road, are being finalized. Visible results on Cambewarra Mountain as progress continues

Work to repair natural disaster damage on Moss Vale Road at Cambewarra Mountain is showing more visible results, with progress occurring across all six landslip sites. The contractor responsible for the three upslope sites (above the road), Retaining Specialists, has made significant progress, completing work to secure the failed slope at one site in late July.
Workers in abseiling harnesses and ‘cherrypickers’ secured the heavy-duty steel mesh to the slope. The remaining two sites are reaching the final stage with the shotcreting expected to be completed in early-August. After work has been completed at Cambewarra Mountain, the team will begin work on two landslips sites at Barrengarry Mountain. This work is expected to start in mid-August. |
Workers and machinery operate within the narrow space available to install soil nails and mesh surfacing to secure the steep slope above the road. |
|
More unstable ground conditions at the three downslope sites (below the road) have required a different approach by the Rix Group, the contractor working on these sites. While installation of the soil nails has been at a slower pace, work has progressed with forming the concrete capping beams that will strengthen the outside road edges. We are working with the Rix Group to confirm the schedule of remaining work so we can finalise plans for the final major component of the repairs, which involves resurfacing a 1.5 kilometre section of Moss Vale Road. |

| Working under bright lights, the formwork is prepared for the concrete capping beams that will strengthen the outside road edges. |
