Good morning All,
Thank you so much to those who were able to attend and for braving the wild and wooly weather (one candidate came up from Batemans Bay and another from Fishermans Paradise, another the windy local road that lays between Berry and KV!)) on Tuesday evening to come along to our Kangaroo Valley Community Forum and take time out to meet five of the declared Candidates for Gilmore.
Three candidates did not respond to our email invitation.
Mel Wise (Trumpet of Patriots) telephoned yesterday and if anyone would like to catch up for a coffee with her, please let me know and I will give you contact details.
By hosting events like this for our community, the KVCCB seeks to make valuable connections which may help Kangaroo Valley in the future. Guests, in this case, Federal Candidates for Gilmore, are able to see how engaged the community is and that we would like our voices heard, and our input seriously considered. Numbers count, for the next time we seek to offer an Invitation to attend one of our regular bimonthly meetings or hosted Community Forums.
Whilst we didn’t get through all of the questions sent in, the general consensus was that people were very appreciative of the opportunity to come along and many learnt something new.
Pre-poll voting has now opened and in person, on the day voting will be held on Saturday 3rd May 2025 at the Kangaroo Valley Hall.
Particular thanks go to Stephen Wilson, who went early to set up the sound system and all seating in the KV Hall.
Once again, thank you. Couple of images attached.

Federal Election – Gilmore – Kangaroo Valley Community Forum – Meet the Candidates
– hosted by the Kangaroo Valley Community Consultative Body (KVCCB)

AT THE KANGAROO VALLEY HALL

TUESDAY 22ND APRIL 2025, STARTING AT 7PM.

18/04/2025

Dear All,

The Kangaroo Valley Community Consultative Body (KVCCB) is hosting a Community Forum to which all eight declared Candidates for the seat of Gilmore are invited.

2025 Candidates in Ballot Paper Order (8 Candidates)
PHILLIPS, Fiona (Labor) – Invitation accepted
DEZARNAULDS, Kate (Independent) – Invitation accepted
WISE, Melissa (Trumpet of Patriots)
KILLIAN, Debbie (The Greens) – Invitation accepted
BROWN, Graham (Family First)
CONSTANCE, Andrew (Liberal) – Invitation accepted
HAWKE, John (Pauline Hanson’s One Nation) – Invitation accepted
CARLE, Adrian Richard (Legalise Cannabis)

In the interest of transparency and fairness, we have invited all 8 declared candidates – unfortunately some invitations have gone out very late as we only became aware of their entry in the last few days.

The format of the evening will open with
* 3 minutes / Candidate to introduce themselves, their party and their platforms for the Gilmore Electorate and wider Federal arena
* Submitted questions
* Questions from the floor (if time permits)
* Closing statements at 3 minutes / Candidate

The Kangaroo Valley Community Consultative Body (KVCCB) welcomes questions from the community to be asked at this forum.
Don’t forget to send in your questions for the Candidates by email to [email protected] – the earlier the better.
Given that the major parties’ platforms are either known, or are readily available, we would especially like questions asking the Candidates what they see are the major issues facing the seat of Gilmore.
Your Community – your say.
